Sumrell Sugg is excited to welcome Nathan Liland as the firm’s legal intern this summer. Nathan is a New Bern native and just finished his first year of law school at Campbell University’s school of law, after graduating from UNC Charlotte with a degree in political science and a triple minor in legal studies, American studies, and criminal justice. While at UNC Charlotte, Nathan volunteered for the Cabarrus County Guardian Ad Litem program, advocating for children who suffered from abuse and neglect. Just recently, Nathan traveled with Campbell Law School to Cape Coast, Ghana, for a three-week legal study abroad program at the university of Cape Coast School of Law.
Nathan will be working closely with Sumrell Sugg attorneys in a variety of the firm’s practice areas. His particular practice areas of interest are municipal law, real estate, and land use development, which he will have an opportunity to engage in throughout the firm’s summer internship program.
