Trey Ferguson Selected to NCLM Legislative Policy Committee

Sumrell Sugg attorney and Alderman for the City of New Bern, Trey Ferguson has been selected to serve on the North Carolina League of Municipalities’ Legislative Policy Committee.

The committee will lead the League’s policy development process for the upcoming legislative biennium, helping shape the statewide legislative priorities that will guide NCLM’s advocacy on behalf of North Carolina’s cities and towns.

Committee members represent municipalities from across the state and will review and vet policy proposals submitted by League members. The process will ultimately result in NCLM’s Legislative Goals, which will be reviewed by the League’s Board of Directors and voted on by member municipalities.

“I’m excited for the opportunity to represent New Bern and work with municipal leaders from across North Carolina to help develop legislative priorities that reflect the needs of our cities and towns,” Ferguson said. “Local governments are closest to the people we serve, and it is important that municipalities have a strong voice in decisions made at the state level.”

The North Carolina League of Municipalities is a member-driven organization representing the interests of cities and towns across the state. For more than 100 years, the League has advocated for municipalities and worked to help local governments better serve their communities.
