Sumrell Sugg Managing Partner Scott Hart Elected to Third Term as District Bar Councilor

Sumrell Sugg, P.A. is pleased to announce that Managing Partner Scott Hart has been elected to serve a third consecutive term as District Bar Councilor for the North Carolina State Bar. In this upcoming term, Scott will also serve as Chair of the State Bar’s Grievance Committee.

Scott serves full time as a mediator in state and federal courts, where he is regularly called upon to help parties resolve complex civil disputes. His election to continued leadership within the State Bar reflects the high level of trust placed in him by the legal community and is consistent with his reputation for fairness, sound judgment, and professionalism.

Scott’s professional accomplishments and peer recognition include designation as a Martindale-Hubbell AV® Preeminent™ attorney, membership in the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals, and recognition as one of the Top 100 Lawyers in North Carolina by Super Lawyers.

As District Bar Councilor, Scott represents attorneys within his judicial district (encompassing Pamlico, Craven, & Carteret counties) and assists in the administration of the State Bar’s regulatory responsibilities. As Chair of the Grievance Committee, he will help oversee the review and resolution of attorney discipline matters statewide.
