We are proud to announce that this week, Sumrell Sugg attorney Scott Hart was elected by the lawyers of our judicial district to serve as a State Bar Councilor. The NC State Bar licenses attorneys, establishes ethics standards, handles grievances and sets standards for continuing education.
The State Bar is governed by the State Bar Council. There are 61 State Bar Councilors in North Carolina, each of whom was selected by the lawyers in their respective judicial district. Our judicial district is made up of Craven, Carteret and Pamlico Counties. The lawyers of those counties selected Scott to serve a three year term as their representative to the State Bar.
