Sumrell Sugg Partner David B. Baxter, Jr., was appointed and sworn in as the County Attorney for Lenoir County on Monday, May 15, 2023. The County Attorney position is provided for by N.C. General Statute § 153A-114.
In addition to Lenoir County, Dave also proudly represents Pamlico and Jones counties as the duly appointed County Attorney. Dave is also the Town Attorney for the Towns of River Bend, Pollocksville, Grantsboro and Vandemere. Dave has over a decade of practice experience in municipal law and works with Sumrell Sugg’s municipal clients on a variety of complex legal issues.
Dave is the only attorney in North Carolina appointed to represent three separate counties.
